The guy who is responsible for my Exo-Cage is a good friend. He has some private property where he wheels his dirt bikes, quads, & his Baja Beetle, with his kids & family. There is a track, a few jumps, & some mud holes.
So he invited us all over to play around. Little did I know I was essentially getting set up. He has a water way that passes through his property & it is a little deceiving. To look at it, it's only a couple of inches deep, and you would think you could go right through it. How ever, that isn't the case as I was soon to find out. I have some rescue video footage that can be found on my Videos Page.
After that didn't work, Don went around to the front and gave it a couple more tries. Then I had my wife bring in the dually try pulling with a strap, but that broke. So I used my winch, & hooked it to the truck & back to the Jeep, but all I was doing was pulling the truck to me. Thankfully Jeff & Eric showed up & between the 3 of them I was finally pulled out.

That was a nasty 'ole hole. Looks like I'll have some serious cleaning to do.
Turns out the reason I could get out very easily was I broke a front Axle Shaft U-Joint on one side & a front stub shaft on the other.
This was the soupiest, nastiest, goopiest mud you've ever seen. To look at the ditch it looked like a little stream. As soon as the front tires dropped in, that was all she wrote. So Don broke out his tractor, & one of the other guys brought his Jee around & tried to winch me out backwards.
Took a lap or two around the track, & played on the jumps. Then I started hitting some pretty decent mud holes.
Then it was off to the trap. Oh yeah, Don told me to go through the ditch. So I did. Oh yeah, big mistake. It just swallowed the Jeep's front end.
